Missed Delivery: what happens if my package didn’t get delivered on the first attempt?

If you received a notification in your FlagShip account that your package was not delivered and that there was a missed delivery, take note that each shipping carrier has a different delivery attempt policy. Don’t worry if your package does not get delivered on the first attempt, we’ve got you covered.

UPS:

  1. Will try to deliver 3 times. After the 3rd attempt, they will hold the package for 5 days (unless the recipient contacts the courier to make arrangements for rescheduling delivery or hold)
  2. Residential deliveries – UPS has a number of Access Points across the country.  Therefore, there will be only 1 attempt for delivery before the package is sent to the nearest Access Point. The recipient will receive a call and/or door knocker indicating the nearest pickup location

 

Purolator:

  1. Will try to deliver 1 time. After the 1st attempt, they will hold the package for 5 days (unless the recipient contacts the courier to make arrangements for rescheduling delivery or hold

 

FedEx:

  1. Ground: Will try to deliver 3 times. After the 3rd attempt, they will hold the package for 7-10 days (unless the recipient contacts the courier to make arrangements for rescheduling delivery or hold)
  2. Express: Will try to deliver 1 time. After the 1st attempt, they will hold the package for 5 days (unless recipient contacts the courier to make arrangements for rescheduling delivery or hold)
