When the Weather Affects Your Shipping

Posted by Tania

We can all agree that we have had more than our fair share of bad weather this winter. From snowstorms to the extreme cold, the unpredictable weather has most probably interfered with your shipping schedule. While most shipments arrive as scheduled, an unexpected event such as a snowstorm can cause a delay. Here are some tips to help you stay on top of your shipping despite the weather.

  • Check for service updates. FlagShip provides clients with updates in the case that the weather is a concern. Login to your FlagShip account as we make sure to keep you updated on any service interruptions.
  • Sign up for tracking updates. At FlagShip, we provide our clients with the option to receive e-mail tracking updates. To receive notifications for when your shipment is in transit and when it is delivered, make sure you select these options in your profile notifications preferences.
  • Confirm if recipient’s location is open for receiving. To help avoid delays, check with your recipient if they are able to receive shipments before and after a storm, for example.
